For more than a decade, Blake has been working as a theater creator and educator in New York and around the world. Highlights include: Live projection artist and ensemble member in Simon Mcburney’s Die Zauberflote at the Metropolitan Opera, Palau Des Artes, Valencia, Spain and Dutch National Opera; developing clown material for Pagliacci and Ariadne Auf Naxos at the Metropolitan Opera; Movement direction for Mozart’s La Finta Giardiniera at Juilliard; Cirque du Soleil’s float in the Macy’s Parade and The Infinite Bliss of the Hungry Ghost Realm in residency at Dance Box Kobe, Japan. Recently Blake has created and directed Peregrinations, part of the Tank’s 24-25 core production season and recipient of the NYFA Women’s Grant for Theater, and Solitary at the Edinburgh fringe in 2019, which critics called “...a physical theater masterpiece.” Since 2015, Blake has been a member of Broken Box Mime Theater, an award winning company specializing in original work for a variety of audiences, as well as developing numerous educational programs combining mime technique, socio-emotional learning, conflict resolution and collaborative theater. Blake is a movement instructor specializing in Lecoq Technique, ensemble devising, physical theater and mask work.
